Art in Bloom and Sea Life

Good morning Stampers!

Today I am back into my workroom - I have a couple of fun designs I am working on for Stamp Camp next weekend,- including a diorama card and a view finder card. It is going to be a great camp!

In the past couple of weeks there have been sightings of a cougar in our area, the last one being on the other side of our woods. So we are keeping a close eye on our pets but had a surprise last evening when Kanji was barking out the front windows- I'm thinking the cougar is out there, but nope it was a doe and her fawn. It has been years since seeing deer in the area. The picture is not great as it was taken through the window at twilight on my phone.

Today I thought I would share with you a couple of cards I made recently -one using the new Art in Bloom bundle. I started with a piece of shimmery white card stock, put it through the Stampin' Cut with both the embossing folder and the die that cut out the 3 flowers sitting inside (a specially designed folder) Then I popped out the flowers and using a blending brush added Garden Green ink to the rest of the embossed piece, I added a layer of Basic White behind, then put another piece of Basic White through the embossing folder/die just for a solid flower layer, I colored the shimmery white flower layer and snipped along the petal lines, and alternated between gluing it and adding a dimensional to the back of the petals so that some were lifted off the base flower.

Another card I made uses the Sea Life bundle, but for this card I just stamped layer upon layer and cut out just one of the fish.

When my kids were little, I used to read them a book called Rainbow Fish - they loved it, and so do the grand kids now, It is about sharing and how happy it can make us. When ever I am stamping and adding glitter or in this case wink of stella to a fish I am reminded of this book.

Oh I am excited to share that Rebecca has accepted a teaching position in Tigard, and Josh has one more interview and we are confident that he too will be offered a position. So it is a sure thing they are all moving here this summer! Yippee! I will have all my kids and grandkids here in the Portland metro area.
