Love and Compassion motivates people to go out of their way to relieve the physical, mental, or emotional pains of others.
Is it possible to care too much?
If you work in a high-stress environment day in and day out — or are
involved in a personal situation that requires copious amounts of energy — you may experience a condition of extreme tiredness and desperation.
You may be experiencing compassion fatigue.
As an educator and administrator for the Department Of Public Instruction, I was continually under a heavy workload, excessive demands, and long hours.
Eventually, I became deeply disillusioned, clinically depressed and physically depleted.
My happiness was dissolving.
Have you ever felt that way?
When trying to
cope with compassion fatigue, very few of us realize the value of our inner world and that we're already—and always will be—whole, no matter our circumstances.
So when things go awry, we push harder trying to "do better" and
things get worse.
We don't take time to recharge and renew.
This breeds constant anxiety and lack of presence.
If we're going to break free of these life draining situations, get our well-being back and maintain a healthy personal and
professional presence, we need to rethink our approach to life.
We have every right to address what feels unfulfilling in our life!
Discovering how to nurture our deepest fulfillment is essential for living a vibrant, more peaceful life!
If you're dealing
with potential burnout, compassion fatigue, or lack of peace here's a few tips:
1) Ask for help
2) Set Boundaries
3) Practice
