It wasn't that long ago that, I was in a personal and professional tail spin.
I was dealing with
- depression,
- non-stop migraines and
- anxiety attacks most mornings as I was getting ready for work.
I had already changed JOBS in an attempt to STOP the crazy, but it wasn't working.
I had to wear sunglasses 😎 to work to help ease the glare from the fluorescent lights and to hide the despair in my eyes.
I couldn't enjoy fun times with friends and family😢 because INSIDE, I was a wreak.
I had hit my 4th rock bottom! The first 3 were earlier in life~ a story for another time.
This time, I was in my 50's working 50-60 hours a week trying to show that I was UP FOR THE JOB.
I was only getting about 4 hours of sleep a night.
I had talked to my administrator and she really didn't seem to care~ until I showed her the DATA!
Being an educator, I'm a big DATA FAN!
Once I showed her the "proof" she began to work with
me.
That helped some, but what really made the difference was allowing myself to admit that I didn't have it all together and that I needed to expand my view on what success and flourishing meant.
I feel certain that if we "high-achievers"
were to put as much or more energy into expanding my own inner peace 🥰 as we expend on meeting other's expectations, we would be healthier, happier, and have more energy to support others along the way.
