The Smoke Signal - March '23 Edition The official newsletter of Smokey Okies Cannabis, for aspiring growers and interested stoners. In this edition, you will find: - Breeding Project update
- All about the keys to quality Hash Rosin
- Mini-Series: How to Grow for Beginners
- YouTube Video about how we discovered light cycling
If you've been reading our newsletters these last few months, then you know that we have been engaged in extensive breeding lately. And we are having a blast doing it! We are taking our favorite males and females, and looking to create some bold combinations. Currently, we are working with our Candy Cake male, and have impregnated some of our sexiest ladies: - Coffee Creamer x Candy Cake
- Jungle Driver x Candy Cake
- Rainbows at Night x Candy Cake
- Mango Sapphire x Candy Cake
- Jelly Breath x Candy Cake
We are not sure which will make the cut, but so far at least three of
these are looking and smelling super fire! (We won't tell you which three just yet!). We don't have any firm deadlines or launch dates. We are taking our time. But we want to keep you updated, so that you can be among the first to buy these seeds and try these new strains for yourself!
Are you New to Hash Rosin? Learn more below...
We love smoking the herb, and I'm sure you do too. As growers, flower is our cannabis product of choice.
But that's not to say, we don't love us a good dab of hash, or some rosin
in our pre-roll! When it comes to concentrates, our first choice is top quality Hash Rosin. Modern day hash rosin has become the ultimate object for connoisseurs of concentrates. Because of it’s minimal processing, which uses no chemicals, solvents, or
extraction methods, the product shares a resemblance to the sacred plant we so dearly love. The smell, taste, even touching and feeling the batter, has a familiar likeness to cannabis flower. If you're a flower toker through and through, check out our latest article about Hash Rosin. It is the perfect concentrate product for those of us that typically smoke flower.
The quality of cannabis concentrates is heavily dependent on the quality of the source material. And this fact is even more true when we are talking about one cannabis concentrate in particular: Hash
Rosin.

Mini-Series on Growing Weed for BeginnersEver wanted to grow weed, but didn’t know where to get
started as a beginner? Maybe you are thinking about growing good weed yourself. High five to that! I want to help you get there quicker. At Smokey
Okies Cannabis, our passion is genetics, and all the cool varieties that have been created by the great breeders of past and present. We are also big supporters of the home grow movement. And
the beautiful thing about living in the information age is that you can do it too! Part of our mission at Smokey Okies is to pass on what we have learned. In this 4-part mini-series, we introduce the beginner
grower to some basic concepts about growing.
Part 1: Overview of the Light Cycles
If you are brand new to cultivating, then you need to know that cannabis is a photoperiod plant, meaning it has two distinct periods or phases of
growth.

|
|
When you decide to start growing weed, you will need to either plant seeds or plant a clone. But which is the better option?
|

Part 3: How long to Veg your plants?
In this article, we are going to dive into veggin’ these young plants and some tips and tricks to optimize your time during the Vegetative Stage.
|
|
|
Part 4: How much space do you need?
If you have a small grow space, such as a tent, you must acknowledge your limitations. The most obvious is ceiling height. Compare that to a 2-car garage. A grower using his
home garage has more space than a person using a tent. But killer outcomes can be achieved in both scenarios, if you have a plan!

New YouTube Video: The back- story on how we discovered light cycling
Last month we shared with you tips on how to gradually increase, hold, and then decrease light intensity during the flowering stage. In this video, we share the back
story of how we discovered this tactic by accident! When you are a grower, you care about your babies, and we were pretty freaked out about this electrical issue. Lucky for us, this electrical problem turned out to be a blessing in disguise. We averted disaster and actually learned a really cool trick in the process. Click for the full story.
