Everyone at The Local Crowd lives and loves local. By supporting local home-grown businesses, we are investing in the future of our communities. These businesses represent friends and neighbors, sometimes family, that share our commitment to building prosperous and strong networks of local businesses.

So when The Local Crowd team saw the opportunity to support an organization that shares our focus on building strong local communities, we had to act. In December, we partnered with The Local Crowd Monadnock to sponsor AMiBA’s Shop Indie Local Holiday Campaign. We value AMIBA’s work in promoting local and we wanted to to support their vision for building resilient local entrepreneurial ecosystems. 

We also recognized that collaborating with The Local Crowd Monadnock was a sure way to move this program forward. Since 2017, The Local Crowd Monadnock has been stewarded by Jen Risley, a true Local Champion in the Monadnock region of New Hampshire. TLC Monadnock has hosted 59 campaigns with over 3,500 supports, raising $470,212. Jen works tirelessly on many Shop Local initiatives and programs in her region as well as assisting AMIBA in their on-going outreach to members.

The 2023 Shop Indie Local Holiday campaign is one of many of the Shop Indie Local programs developed by AMIBA and it is our first step in supporting this organization. The Local Crowd Cooperative will continue to work with Jen in Supporting AMIBA members with complimentary access to The Local Crowd Cooperative platform and learning center resources. These services are available to members through March 31, 2024. A free virtual event highlighting the use of crowdfunding as an access to capital tool will be on January 11th.

Offering Pop-Up Shop style booths will not only bring additional presence, it will simultaneously drive business to the pop-up location or event. Not only is January 11th our AMIBA virtual event, it also marks the birthday of our Founder and CEO, Diane Sontum. Diane has held the TLC vision without fail since August 2012. Her dedication and commitment to building a network of compassionate and generous supporters keeps us all moving forward to make it happen for more communities.
