THREADS NEWSLETTER || DEC. 2021
Hey Threadies (that's our special name for listeners like you, !)
If you’ve been a listener for more than a month, you’ve heard firsthand from us just how crazy life has been. Jason’s mom passed away, Ben’s trying to thrive in life despite his ongoing anxiety, and both of us have been navigating family life as we endeavor to be the best husbands and dads we can be. All this while working to provide for our families and trying to make time to do
things that recharge us. In short, it has been a crazy season, but we have grown a ton.
Thanks for growing with us. There is nothing like hearing your feedback about how our show is helping you become the best version of yourself.
We wish you all the best this holiday season!

During this episode, Jason shares what it was like growing up in an abusive home and what he was able to do as an adult to break the cycle of violence with his own family. He discusses the decision he made just last year to set boundaries with his parents and siblings, how he has been able to keep those boundaries, and the positive effect it has had on him. He also
drops the biggest bombshell to date on Strong Enough, as he shares the story of recently learning about the ultimate betrayal by his parents.

One day Ben received news that one of the kids he was close with died in a BMX accident. More trauma was to come for Ben and his wife when they found out that the three small children they had been fostering for years had been approved to return to their biological parents, just moments before the adoption was being finalized. He recounts their last Christmas
as a family, knowing this would be the last time he would ever see them, and the renewed feelings of loss and abandonment. Through further rejection, job loss, and financial hardship, Ben never gave up, kept his faith, and trusted the process. It's a wonderful and emotional episode.
