Ian grew up in Apartheid South Africa and in 1968 spent a “gap year” in Israel at the Machon L’Madrechei Chutz L’Aretz (The Institute of Youth Leaders From Abroad), which consisted of 6 months study in Jerusalem and 6 months on a kibbutz. Then returned to study in South Africa and to take up role as one of the senior leaders of Habonim.
Taught in high school, served as a liaison officer to the Unite d Nations forces based on the Golan Heights. Active in Yigal Yadin’s DASH party in 1977 and then in 1988 moved to London where he became involved in several projects attempting to bring knowledge to the generation of young Jewish students embarking on their studies to various campuses around the country. He is now currently working on the development of short video clips covering topics such as
“Myth-busting the Israel/Palestine conflict”, “Israel’s Wars of Survival” and several more which are in production.
