Operation Barbarossa - and how it Informs us about the War In Ukraine
Howard Epstein
The largest invasion force in history
Failures that reversed the fortunes of Nazi Germany
Russian might in 1941 - and the lessons it holds for the war now raging in Ukraine
Howard Epstein, a solicitor for over fifty years, is also the author of books in four genres: a focussed biography of Chaim Weizmann, Israel at 75: In Weizmann’s Image; a work of non-fiction: Traumatised Nation: How America Got to be so
Violent; a historical novel, The Nazi Who saved America: von Braun, JFK and the Sputniks, based on one chapter of Traumatised Nation; and a novel, The Compartmentalist, about a high flying City lawyer, suddenly confronted with several attacks on his reputation and financial standing, and how he overcame them. Howard has also written, and had performed, two plays about Israel, one about the civil war there of June 1948, arising from extreme party political rivalry!
(Remind you of anything?) Howard is currently writing No Genius: Hitler’s Fatal Mistakes, from which his talk this week is derived.
