Jews Milk Goats
Or How we left north London to run a farm but still live an observant Jewish life
Gillian Freedman
Where would they go to Shul? Where would they buy Kosher food? Gillian and Jeremy weren’t worried...
When Jeremy, Gillian Freedman’s lawyer husband, turned 60 they decided to uproot from Hampstead Garden Suburb, leave their full Jewish social life and relocate to rural Bedfordshire; they bought a dilapidated farmhouse with a 300 year-old barn and 5 acres of land!
Gillian’s book ‘Jews Milk Goats’ tells their story and interweaves the Jewish calendar with the rhythm of the farming year.
