“Success Without Fulfillment Is the Ultimate Failure” – Tony Robbins.
As high achievers, we are often victims of not feeling “good enough” regardless of what we’ve
accomplished.
It is human nature to want to be accepted by the communities that we value. We spend time caught in a back-and forth of continuously seeking internal
and external validation. This is normal as it’s a human need to feel good about ourselves. Self-fulfillment, high self-esteem and self-empowerment cannot be cultivated without an environment of the people we value and/or love.
However, there’s no need to wait on the next promotion in your career, purchasing the home of your dreams, and/or finding a romantic partner in order
to live a fulfilled life RIGHT NOW. Changing your focus from the end goal to being proud of your daily system of habits is key to feeling fulfilled.
Here are three ways to help unveil a fulfilled life right now.
Gratitude:
- Speak gratitude to yourself out loud daily!
- Find ways to be openly kind to yourself through affirmations, self-care, and intentionally doing things that bring you joy no
matter how small.
- According to an article by Heather Craig,
BPsySc, over 90% of American teens and adults indicated that expressing gratitude made them experience feelings of “extreme
happiness” or feel “somewhat happier”. Think about setting an intentional behavior in your day speaking to yourself with kindness.
Celebration:
- “You betta’ recognize!”
- Recognize your achievements and celebrate yourself. Don’t wait for others to recognize you. It’s a known fact within business
culture that recognition is the key to increased productivity, and lower attrition rates; business productivity increases by 30% when employees are happy. How much more productive could you be if you spent the time recognizing yourself?
- Accept all the great things about yourself and amplify your strengths. Did you achieve a long term goal, and you don’t think
anything of it because now you have to achieve another goal? STOP. Smell your own roses for a minute and make a recognition budget for yourself. You deserve it!
Service:
- Give of yourself!
- Be in service to others. Volunteer, give money, time or other resources because you
will find fulfillment by serving humanity.
A life full of gratitude, celebration, and service is one we are all worthy of. Make choices that align with this starting
today!
