The instruction is simple this week. Track how often you start your responses with the following:
“I can’t….”
“I had to….”
“I have to….”
Replace all the above responses with “I CHOSE TO…” or “I CHOOSE TO….”
Examples:
“I can’t exercise today.”
This statement makes it seem like you do not have a choice when you do.
“I chose not to exercise today.”
This statement communicates ownership of the situation. You made a decision not to do something.
Let that truth be what it is. Release the story you want to tell yourself about why you didn’t do something. Get clear on what you choose to do or not do.
See how much energy you can protect by repurposing words. Use your words to claim ownership over the experiences you decide to have or not have! I look forward to hearing from you about what you notice over the next week. Let me
know what you find!
