Hello , I hope you are keeping well?
Today I'm giving some more tips about Evernote, Suzanne Dibble and Paperbell. It would take ages to tell you everything about how useful they all are! So here are a few more highlights.
Evernote again
This is my favourite organising software, both personally and professionally.
Another really good feature for me is the ability to search in lots of different ways, for examples by using tags when you first set up the Note. Even if, like me, you are not quite that organised, you can simply search for one word and it's easy to find documents. I also save recipes by simply taking a photo, and also when I come across an
interesting looking book I make a note of it in Evernote and then send in several requests at once to the library!
It's surprisingly inexpensive and there is a free version. I don't have a referral link for Evernote but it is so good you may like to simply try the free version. (I use the Professional version which is only £7.49 a month.)
Business support from Suzanne Dibble
Suzanne started off providing customisable legal templates for small businesses which you can trust, as she is a top UK lawyer. Not only this but she also runs 'sprints' several times a year where you can learn (mostly for free) about such delights as trademarks, copyright and more; these often include wider business building resources
that you can access at very low cost. For example, I am still working my way through the 'Swag' from one of her events last year, which cost me only £47. This included over a dozen courses and resources such as marketing, business strategy, content planning and more. I am happy to promote all her work as it is so incredibly useful. So here again are a couple of current links - The Small Business Legal Academy, and the GDPR pack. I'll let you know when the next thing comes along.
More about Paperbell
What I really like about Paperbell, the coaching software, is how responsive they are to customer requests. About once a month they release new features; the latest is the ability to message individual clients directly from your dashboard, rather than everyone who has bought that particular package. This adds to the customisable
emails that can be automatically sent out. You can also keep client notes within Paperbell, and they have a very good blog, which you may have seen me share, about all aspects of coaching and associated business. I have requested features myself, such as the ability to group packages, and I'm confident they will soon do this. If you'd like a free trial, one way to do this is to go via my affiliate link.
Book recommendation
I do give recommendations in my other list, and this one is specifically for coaches, rather than for
potential clients. It is Climate Change Coaching, and it does what it says on the tin. Many coaches feel these days that whilst we must respect our clients' agendas, the climate crisis is so urgent that it may be unethical for us not to find ways to bring it into our coaching as much as
we can.
This book marries the skills of change coaching - which is really what we do! - in the context of promoting that necessary sense of agency to enable the change humanity needs. I was moved and interested to see that the authors situate this firmly in the context of personal relationships, which in the end, is really all we've
got.
That's it for now , and I hope you've found this useful. Feel free to get in touch with any questions or suggestions, and I'll be in touch again next month. As
before, here are a few buttons illustrating how I've used some of the products I've described. Meanwhile, what else would be useful to you in these updates? Let me know and I'll do my best to provide it,
All best wishes,
Barbara
