Instructions
1. Score and cut the 2 pieces of 12 x 12 Merry Bold and Bright DSP per the diagram. Use the Bone Folder to get good creases on the score lines. (Be mindful of the direction of the paper and which side of the DSP you want on the outside of the bag & what you want the accent fold on the top of the bag to be). See Diagrams 1 and 2 below.
2. Fold the accent 2” top fold on both pieces of DSP and adhere with Tear and Tape Adhesive.
3. Punch two holes on the top fold of the gift bag on each piece of 12 x 12 DSP. Slide the 18” ribbon thru the hole and knot on the inside of the bag to hold the handle(s) in place. See dia. in
PDF tutorial.
4. Assemble the bag – a). Identify the back piece of the bag – Put the tear and tape adhesive on the outside of the back piece’s bottom and place on top of the bottom of the front piece of the bag and adhere. b). Identify the front piece of the bag – Put two pieces of Tear and Tape Adhesive on the inside of each side panel of bag (see
dia.3). Slide the small bottom flaps from the front piece into place on the bottom of the bag. Then slide the front of the bag sides over the back of the bag sides and adhere with the Tear and Tape Adhesive. When putting the bag together, all open seams should be towards the back of the bag.
5. Die cut the three lights out of the Granny Apple
Green Foil Paper and four lights out of the Granny Apple Green regular cardstock.
6. Attach an Adhesive Sheet to the back of the Silver Foil Paper 1” scrap.
7. Die cut three light sockets out of the
Silver Foil Paper and four light sockets out of the Shaded Spruce cardstock.
8. Assemble the lights by using Tear and Tape on the top of the light to attach the light socket.
9. Stamp the filament
on the Granny Apple Green regular cardstock with Shaded Spruce ink.
10. Die cut three filaments from the Silver Foil with the adhesive sheet attached. Peel off the paper covering from the filament die cut and attach to the Granny Apple Green Foil lights.
11. String the six lights, alternating the foil lights and regular lights on the die cut light string. Attach the die cut string to the top fold of the bag by securing each end with a Granny Apple Green 1/4” circle punched out and secured with 2 mini glue dots attaching the string to the bag securely.
12. Use a Dimensional on the back of the lights to secure them in place along the string of lights.
13. Die cut the tag from the Basic White cardstock and stamp the sentiment with Shaded Spruce ink. Adhere a light to the end of the tag. Attach the tag to the gift bag handle and tie with a bow. Trim the ribbon as needed. (It
may be helpful to put a Mini Glue Dot on the back of the tag to adhere it to the front of bag in a specific position).
