Most golfers misunderstand the role of specific exercises and stretches for golf.
In general, I hear..."if I do bicep curls and make my arms stronger, then I might hit it further, right?"
Or this one..."if I stretch, then I'll get more flexible and have a better shot at not getting injured?".
There's something much more important that acts as a bridge from your body to your game.
What is it?
Body Motion.
Let's use Jim Furyk as an example - well known for his short game prowess.
Here's a photo of him with a very simple pitch shot.
The reason he makes it look so simple is his body motion.
This is something you can practice all day long at home, regardless of the weather outside. In fact, it is better not to have a ball in front of you because then you will start focusing too much on the ball and not enough on the
movement.
