Scottie Scheffler has not been a great putter the last couple of years as he has consistently ranked outside the top 100.
Then he practiced this particular drill over and over until he got
the proper feel. Here’s the drill he used and it’s one you can try too.
Simply place a quarter on the back of your putter blade and begin making strokes. If he ever becomes too quick or off tempo in his stroke, the quarter falls off.
According to Scheffler, “it helps me with tempo in transition.”
When he gets it right, it's confirmation of a smooth even stroke which is what he is after.
