What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I began writing as therapy and wanted to see someone like myself, with autoimmune disorders, represented in fiction–specifically romantic fiction. I'm an audiobook narrator and I've audition for hundreds of novels over the years. I realized I wasn't seeing anyone like myself in fiction. And as I reader I was having a difficult enough time finding books with representation in them, let alone someone with autoimmune disorders. I also wanted to write a novel to help women with chronic disorders, who may have low self-esteem with their condition like myself, see that they are beautiful and worthy of love. I have been shocked at the international response and the reviews from women with autoimmune disorders who are excited to see themselves represented in the romance genre. Readers are enjoying the disability and mental health representation in the novel and relating to the main character's struggles. And I feel truly blessed!!!

How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Christine, the MFC, is a very personal character. She battles several rare autoimmune disorders. Her health struggles and experiences are based on my own. While I am not the main character, this aspect is very much built on an extremely vulnerable aspect of my life. It was my intention to bring a character to romance that did struggle with health conditions and continued to struggle with them. There is no magic cure and they don't just go away. I feel very strongly that this representation needs to be seen in fiction, especially romance. I have yet to find a romance book with a main character like myself that I can relate to and so I wanted to write one. I hope you can celebrate Christine's victories along with her, even if you don't have health disorders.

Lola, the MFC's best friend, is inspired by my best friend in real life. The book is dedicated to "my Lola." The theme of unconditional love is woven throughout this book and is very much centered around their relationship. If not for this unconditional love, the MFC would not be able to take this trip or open up her heart.

I can't say much about the MMC without giving much away. As an audiobook narrator, I pulled a lot of inspiration for his backstory from some of my personal experiences.
