And the importance of texture, pattern and gradient in composition.
I have started on a typtic of paintings reflecting my chosen theme (the shores around Portsmouth Harbour) - when you paint intuitively, it's all in the prep and intention - what actually transpires when I paint could be anyones guess! It's an exciting way to work that I find fascinating and engaging.
I usually post new blogs at the weekend, so keep checking back!
FREE POST on my eco clothing collection this Jubilee weekend
I have partnered with Teemill to print some of my unique acrylic abstract works on t-shirts and tops.
Teemill is local to me (I'm just across the Solent from them) and I have been very impressed with their business model - organic natural fibres, printed in the UK in a renewable energy powered factory plus next day delivery in recyclable packaging!
In celebration of the Jubilee, it's free post until midnight on Sunday.
I will be exhibiting several new paintings at the Small is Beautiful exhibition at Yellow Edge Gallery, Gosport, between 24th June and 3rd July. I haven't decided which ones yet, so
you'll have to come along to find out! :)
Increasingly social media is driven by algorithms and whilst I have been keeping in touch with people via Facebook and Instagram, they only show my posts to about 20-30% of those peole who have liked my page. This means that most people are missing out without realising it. Plus algorithms change,
currently in order to attract the attention of the Instagram one, they want videos, not photographs. It's exhausting keeping up. This way, I can send you one email a month and know that you will get it, and that you can unsubscribe if you don't want to receive it any longer. Simple.
And Finally, spam
Google likes to put newsletters in the spam folder or onto one of your promotions tabs. In order to make sure you don't miss out, please add me to your contacts so Google knows I am one of
the good guys! Thank you.
