Happy Rebellious Tuesday!
In today's update, if you're looking for something with no weekends required, this WFH customer service job starts at $34,320/yr. It looks like a computer is also provided. Paid training. No states excluded, per the
listing. College isn't required.
Beware "Tunnel Vision"
This happens to most job seekers sooner or later (more than once for me, a mulish learner), and it's an expensive mistake.
Let's say you finally found the job lead you've been looking for. The company's generous, the pay is great, the role's a perfect fit.
You apply, and for weeks all you can do is think about the job. You're almost certain you'll be invited to interview, because your qualifications are so strong, you've got a good feeling,
and the tarot cards are cheering you on.
Days become weeks. Your momentum ebbs, your job search has slowed or stopped. And you hear nothing (unbeknownst to you, your application was blocked by HR filters), or you get a rejection.
You're devastated. Your confidence is shaken, you have to answer embarrassing questions from friends and family ("Did you get hired for that job you were so excited about?"), and you're even further from the cashflow you need.
As the cliche goes, job hunting is a numbers game: Search (and don't
forget to network), select, apply, repeat. Along the way, upgrade your resume wherever you can, and above all, be good to yourself. Employed or not, you are far more than a job.
