Happy Rebellious Mid-Week!
I hope your day is being good to you. Yesterday we talked about "resume gaps," and a few readers had some questions about the reference. So I'll cover that first.
"Resume gaps" is just a shorthand way of referring to your time between jobs -- a "time gap." When those "gaps" appear on resumes, employers often want to hear explanations. Chris explains how to handle gaps in this recent vid, and turn them into a plus.
A last note about gaps - In the Cardinal Health customer service job included yesterday (under "Sleep In, No Weekends! Computer Provided"), the company mentioned in their listing that people returning to work were encouraged to
apply. In other words, people with "gaps" in their resume are welcome. If you're interested, you can go straight to the employer's listing here. Their note appears at the
bottom of the page. (But don't wait, it may fill soon.)
A Job with "Monthly Tech Payments"
Most employers don't reimburse you for home-office tech expenses, but here's a customer service job that does. Pay starts at $18/hr. No state hiring exclusions in the listing, no college required. Other benefits included. 4.3 stars out of 5 on Glassdoor.
Benefits from Day One
If you're looking for a WFH job with first-day benefits, this customer service role could work. It mistakenly gives two starting pay rates, $16.50/hr. and $15.50/hr. I suspect the higher rate is the right one, and they missed the older one when they revised the listing. But that's just a guess. No state hiring restrictions are noted, no college required, though it's a plus if you have it.
