4-step process to make these sessions not only manageable but, also enjoyable.
Step 1: Set a Consistent Schedule that you can keep up with.
One of the keys to managing ADHD ( bc if you live with
this type of brain you will notice, you forget things easily and you also don't always "feel motivated" to do what is necessary, so this is why:
- Lists
- Visual reminders &
- Visual cue's are the key as well as establishing (sustainable) routines.
Ideas: Choose a specific day and time each week for your money date – make it an
appointment with yourself. ( like literally.. write or type it into your digital and paper planner. set a timer (and add notifications ex: 2 hours before and 10 mins before) yes you may need (2 & 3 notifications, remember it only needs to make sense for you!)
put on some soft music 🎵 (instrumentals tend to be a nice, relaxing vibe) or you can do it in silence, phone on DND, at your work area with your favorite beverage/or water bottle.
💦
also, I also like to leave my budget planner near my bed, or just be sure to place it, so you will see it often and can quickly access it as needed.
Whether it's Monday mornings or Friday evenings, consistency is your "best friend". This predictability can help you ease into the process without feeling that added
overwhelmed.
