I had a great time at the Big Green Egg EGGtoberfest last weekend. It showed the passion for the brand that so many EGG enthusiasts get together, as they've done for 26 straight years. I highly recommend this event for anyone to go to in the future.
Aaron Franklin was on The BBQ Central Show this week talking all about creating the Franklin Barbecue Pit, and the science behind it. It's a great listen. Another thing for Aaron Franklin fans, the BBQ With Franklin series on YouTube is legendary. Well, PBS Food has recently been putting the full episodes of that series up, so be sure to check those out.
We got quite a few new grills this week, starting with recteq. They released three new pellet grills that are similar to the ones they already sell, but the biggest news is they released a pellet fueled griddle called the SmokeStone. They also
released a pellet grill with two cook chambers, one for lower heat cooking and the other for high heat.
Green Mountain Grills released the Prime 2.0 series pellet grills. They feature improved air circulation, a rack system for different cooking styles, and DC power. The real differentiator though is they have an optional infrared side burner for searing.
