Empowering Utilities Through
Expert Program Management
It is who we are and what we do.
Our vision statement (found on our SharePoint site and employee handbook) references driving clean energy usage forward through the efficient management of resources for a cleaner and safer environment. By managing the DIAR and SUG programs to reduce wildfire risk, we do exactly that. Kudos to the entire staff for supporting the company vision and applying its core values each day to
the work performed.
Earlier this month, I completed the Platinum Supplier Program sponsored by WBEC West to revamp our capabilities statement, develop a 90-second pitch, and network with west coast supplier diversity personnel in the utility space. Orbital
Project Management is now included in the Cohort 2 book provided to west coast supplier diversity department personnel within the WBEC West supplier network. Upon completion of the program, I enrolled in and completed the WeThrive Digital Marketing program sponsored by Google and its instructors. There has been a ton of work performed in the background to strengthen our presence in the digital space and to highlight our past performance, including the development of two white papers. I am so
proud of the written work Kelly has done to support these efforts.
October is shaping up to be a whirlwind of conferences and travel for more networking opportunities. October 3rd we will be attending the Convergence Conference for Dominion Energy in
Richmond, VA. Next, the Utility Advisory Board SaS Innovate conference in Charlotte, NC on October 11th, and then a trip to San Diego on October 25th through the 28th. Virtually, we will be meeting with Federal contract business developers on October 6th to prepare for entry into the government contracting space, and with RFP consultants throughout the next 6 months to support contract award potential.
Our Veteran Skillbridge program has been written and sent off to the federal government for approval (the first step in funding awards). I will provide updates as I gain new milestone information.
As part of our expanded Sustainability Plan, we have adopted another aspect of sustainable communities into our community outreach. This month, Orbital Project Management embraced the Zero Hunger goal and investigated opportunities to support local communities where our staff reside. The Connecting Kids to Meals program in northwest Ohio provides additional after-school meals to children who often have
access to food only during the school day. September's Sustainability blog, Dinner's on Us, discusses the support we were able to provide.
In closing, I want to thank everyone for their continued commitment to training. Our expanded safety efforts have allowed us to move the needle forward in securing new opportunities. As September is Mesothelioma Awareness Month, we will be completing training focused on understanding potential asbestos exposure jobsite workers may encounter on the projects we manage. Leading programs and projects from a #safetyfirst perspective differentiates us from the competition and assures clients that our promise to empower them through expert program management will be delivered.
Enjoy the upcoming 3-day weekend for Columbus Day!
Sincerely,
