The Year of No Fear
"Life is a balance of
hanging on and letting go."
-Rumi
Balance is a skill honed over a lifetime of experience.
Sometimes there are moments of heartache that shadow each celebration lived. “Two steps forward, one step back,” Anyone? Apparent setback is a dilemma we all experience, but one we should never feel alone with.
As our
company prepares to enter year five of operations, the ability to discern when to hang on and when to let go, like Rumi stated, is sharper than it has ever been – thanks to lessons learned along the way. It shapes our character, strengthens our resolve, and prepares us for the future. If the need arises, please utilize our strength as a team to regain personal or professional balance.
Our government contracting liaison has supplied us with more templates and information to aid in our outreach. Kelly has done a remarkable job organizing and executing the enormous number of communications. I still meet weekly with an RFP consultant to make improvements to our processes. You may notice new processes and their maps appear on our Teams’ SharePoint Tab. In addition to those meetings, I am enrolled in the EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating
System) educational trainings provided by WBENC to gain a better understanding of how to practically implement the system within our project management framework.
REMINDER: A new bonus structure with payout tied to Project Management-related KPIs has taken effect. The cycle for bonus review will be January – December with the bonus payroll run
in the January following. Detailed information and Q/A will be available during your 1-on-1 meeting scheduled with management using this link. If you have not scheduled your 1-on-1, please do so as soon as possible before the quarterly update is due.
Our company’s next observed holiday is Monday, February 19th for Presidents' Day. This is also an observed holiday for SDG&E, but not a holiday observed by any of our Engineering Partners. Please communicate with your respective program leads to ensure adequate coverage while out of the office, if necessary.
Please take a few minutes to read January's Safety and Sustainability blogs. High Wind Safety Precautions offers valuable points to ponder for our projects' jobsites during high wind events. As the third installment in our Health Matters series for Sustainability, we look at Continuous Self-Improvement (which ties nicely into the new KPI-based bonus structure).
In closing, I want to thank everyone for their continued commitment to personal and professional development. January 2024 is
the Year of No Fear for OPM, and I want to encourage everyone to learn a new skill, obtain a new certification, or maintain an old one. Not only will it aid in personal KPI tracking for bonus payout, but it will continue differentiating us from our competition. Clients trust that our promise to empower them through expert program management will be delivered.
Sincerely,
