This email makes your coffee taste better when your images are turned on. :-) |
Blessings on you from the Elliott family! Thank you for subscribing, and we hope you enjoy today’s newsletter. We are made in the image of a Creator, and although we all have different interests and abilities, there is not a single human who does not find joy in creating. Let's talk today about how to promote creativity in our
homes. My goal is to bring a little bit of Scripture, a sprinkle of encouragement, and a dash of hope to your day. I love a good cup of coffee (brewed like this), but if some other drink is more your style, I'm sure that will work. The point is for you to take a break from crazy living, just long enough for a sip of joy.
Daily Bible Verse"Unless Yehovah builds the house, they labor in vain who build it." (Psalm 127:1)
bah-nah—to build; to construct a building, home, or family. Source
When I was a new mom, I read a book called Creative Family Times by Allen Hadidian and Will Wilson. The authors encouraged me to get in the habit of carrying on
conversations with my children about God as often as possible. They suggested that a tree could remind me to discuss Zaccheus, a lake could remind me to talk about how Yeshua walked on the water, and a visit to the zoo could remind me to talk about Noah and the ark. They had several other great ideas, but I’ve been trying to see if I could find more ideas straight from Scripture. I’ve been
amazed at how many conversation-starting ideas the Bible has to offer! (Why should it surprise me that God is so creative?) Read More

Well, I decided to treat us to some half white/half wheat bread today. This is a rare treat for us; we usually make only whole wheat. But my friend Erma gave me a cookbook from her
Mennonite family, and I wanted to try this recipe, originally submitted by Mrs. Ivan Yoder (Esther). Get the Recipe |
