Blessings on you from the Elliott family! Thank you for subscribing, and we hope you enjoy today’s newsletter. As a new week begins, I love to sit with a cup of coffee (...of course...) and plan out my week. In the front of my planner, I have a list of favorite verses and annual goals, and I try to read through them every Sunday morning, just to be reminded what my
priorities are. Today's newsletter is all about priorities. My goal is to bring a little bit of Scripture, a sprinkle of encouragement, and a dash of hope to your day. I love a good cup of coffee (brewed like this), but if some other drink is more your style, I'm sure that will work. The point is for you to take a break from crazy living, just long enough for a sip of joy.
Daily Bible Verse“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33, NKJV)
ba-qash - To seek; to search for something or for answers; to intently look for someone or something until
the object of the search is found. Source
“…Biblical Home Education was really a delight for me to read. Like any other homeschooling mother, Anne Elliott is in the trenches herself. As the mother of seven she has the same questions the rest of us do – how do I teach with toddlers underfoot? How can I keep my homeschool organized? Which methods are the best? And above all – how do I teach in a way that not only imbues my children with a deep understanding of the Word of God, but how do I use teaching methods that draw directly from
the Word and that are influenced by God’s philosophy of teaching (and not that of a homeschooling ‘expert’). ~ Jennifer at Bogart Family Resources Learn More

The World’s PrioritiesBy Anne Elliott, September 3, 2010, AnneElliott.com What does the world say a woman's priorities should be? According to Mark 4:19, even if we have the Word of God planted like a seed in our hearts, if "the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things
come in and choke the word," it will not be fruitful in our lives. This is why it's so important to root out the weeds of lies that the world will try to plant in our lives. Continue Reading
The Multi-Age HomeschoolBy Anne Elliott, December 31, 2010, FoundationsPress.com One of the toughest things about homeschooling is managing multiple ages at once. Since the Bible says that my job as a mother is to be with my children while they're learning, I have to figure out how to be with seven different children at once. How can I teach the
various ages effectively? Continue Reading

2023's Best & Worst States to Raise a FamilyLast week, WalletHub.com released their annual report on Best and Worst States to Raise a Family. Their purpose is to provide guidance for families moving to a new state, and they compared 51 indicators of "family friendliness." I receive lots of press releases by email each week, but this one
caught my eye. My biggest question is if a secular financial site would have the same standards as I would. Even more so, would they line up with the Bible? I didn't think they really did. For instance, as a homeschooler, I might not care as much about how school districts rate. I also might not care about entertainment
options. I certainly don't care that residents are fully vaccinated against Covid-19, a factor that scored double weight on this survey. I'm reminded of Paul's words: "Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely,
whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things... I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Messiah who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:8, 11-13, NKJV). Read Article Online |
