Blessings on you from the Elliott family! Thank you for subscribing, and we hope you enjoy today’s newsletter. Good morning and happy Thursday! My goal today is to provide you with practical tools to defeat idolatry in your everyday life, as well as to begin to walk in righteousness and holiness. Tools include old-fashioned ideas like your
Bible and journal, as well as more modern technology and apps for your phone. My goal is to bring a little bit of Scripture, a sprinkle of encouragement, and a dash of hope to your day. I love a good cup of coffee (brewed like this), but if some other drink is more your style, I'm sure that will work. The point is for you to take a break from crazy living, just long enough for a sip of
joy.
Daily Bible Verse"My son, do not forget my Torah, but let your heart keep My commands, for length of days, and long life, and peace they will add to
you." (Proverbs 3:1)
shachach—forget; to lose remembrance of; to cease remembering or noticing. Source
If you’re just beginning to follow Yeshua and seek to be obedient to YHVH’s commands as given in the Torah, the thought of rooting out all idolatry in your life and home is likely
very overwhelming. First of all, as I mentioned before, we don’t even recognize that we are surrounded by idolatry each day. Read

I have known Debra Reed from NotebookingPages.com for over 15 years. This week is their "Birthday Sale," and I get goosebumps because I remember when she started. (I'm old now!) Her teaching and resources on notebooking have had a huge affect on how I homeschool today, and on our curriculum at Foundations Press and Homeschooling Torah. If you've never
checked out her valuable tools, you should definitely do that today, especially while the price is reduced. Visit NotebookingPages.com |
I studied what it means to be holy, set apart, and clean. This week, in my personal Bible reading, I did a lot of meditating on the verses of Leviticus 19, since they start with
the words, “Be holy because I, YHVH your God, am holy.” My goal was to think about each command, to see if it would be possible to obey these things in my life. I wanted to “be careful to do everything written in it.” During one of my husband’s sermons, God led me to Proverbs 3. It seemed to
me that the words echoed the commands of Leviticus 19, so I decided to look up some of the phrases to see where else they might appear in the Bible. Read More

A Peek into My Notebook and ComputerBy Anne Elliott, July 23, 2010, AnneElliott.com
I thought it was really fun to see how I organized myself 23 years ago, but at the end, you'll see a link to technology and methods I use now. The tools change, but the method remains the
same. For me, a planning notebook, combined with my computer, is essential to keeping myself organized. I thought it might be fun to show you what’s inside each. I began using a planning notebook in high school, when I first read Anne Ortlund’s book, The Disciplines of the Beautiful Woman. First written in the
1970s, she was one of the first authors to recommend a simple 3-ring binder with filler paper to organize a homemaker’s life. Read More |
