Blessings on you from the Elliott family! Thank you for subscribing, and we hope you enjoy today’s newsletter. Good morning and happy Tuesday! I thought I would share some of my favorite books today, for all you bookworms out there. I hope you'll enjoy this! My goal is to bring a little bit of Scripture, a sprinkle of encouragement, and a dash of hope to your day. I love a good cup of coffee (brewed like this), but if some other drink is more your style, I'm sure that will work. The point is for you to take a break from crazy living, just long enough for a sip of joy.

Long before the days when we had ever dreamed of starting Homeschooling Torah, I wrote a book review of Choosing and Using Curriculum by Joyce Herzog. I read through that old
review this morning, and I still remember how impressed I was by her books. You can still get them, and I hope today that I'll convince you why you should. Read More
Are you a P.E.-challenged Mom? I am! I grew up in a traditional school setting, and I just despised physical education class, or “phys ed” as my teachers called it. I didn’t enjoy running around in the heat, making a fool of myself as I tried to catch balls, or changing in the locker room. Yuck! Homeschooling P.E. (for the P.E. Challenged Mom)
is a set of simple lesson plans that would walk me through physical education. These plans are intended for elementary-age children, since these are the ages of my own children. I planned for ways to get us all up and exercising together, since this was a need in our home. Finally, I tried to make it fun, since I knew that I wouldn’t want to continue if it wasn’t – and if Mom doesn’t want to exercise, why would the kids want to? Learn More |
During all years of our history curriculum, we advise you to construct a timeline with your children. If you started in ancient history and continued all the way through American history,
through all of the Bible’s history, through the middle ages, through modern times and even the return of Israel to the Land, your children would have an impressive way to review everything they have learned. Year by year, adding new entries into their timeline, they would remember things they have learned in the past while being able to place new stories into their context of world events. Read More |
