Blessings on you from the Elliott family! Thank you for subscribing, and we hope you enjoy today’s newsletter. Good morning and happy Thursday! (In Hebrew, Thursday is Yom Chamishi, pronounced ha-mi-EE, which means "fifth day.") We've been cleaning for Passover around here. We're not done, but we've conquered a good bit of it. My teenagers have been sporting good attitudes, and I could hear singing as they were wiping shelves in the basement pantry yesterday. I am thankful! This is one song we've been singing. My goal is to bring a little bit of Scripture, a sprinkle of encouragement, and a dash of hope to your day. I love a good cup of coffee (brewed like this), but if some other drink is more your style, I'm sure that will work. The point is for you to take a break from crazy living, just long enough for a sip of
joy.
Daily Bible Verse"You rule the raging of the sea; when its waves arise, You still them." (Psalm 89:9)

moving to be calm. Source
When we were growing up, our lives were affected by the Cold War. Even though it was mostly over before I was born, the ideologies of the Cold War certainly had an impact on our

One part that really affected me was the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis where the Soviet Union was building missile silos on the island of Cuba, giving them the ability to strike most of the continental United States. President Kennedy confronted the Soviets, and the tension was palpable. You could have cut it with a knife. Read More

Spring Cleaning My Father's HouseBy Anne Elliott, March 21, 2013, AnneElliott.com
It’s the day before Passover. The children run through the house, pleased that the days of cleaning are over. Tomorrow is a special day, no school and no work, gathering with
friends. I wipe my hands on my apron and retwist the knot in my hair, since everything is falling out of the clip under my dusty bandana. I look around my spotless kitchen. My critical eye judges everything in sight. The kids will be back soon, looking everywhere to see if we missed a crumb or
bit of yeast. They think it’s fun to find a crumb we’ve overlooked. But we worked so hard the last few days, and I’m tired. I hope we got it all out. Continue Reading
