Blessings on you from the Elliott family! Thank you for subscribing, and we hope you enjoy today’s newsletter. Good morning and happy Friday! (In Hebrew, Friday is Yom Shishi, pronounced shee-SHEE, which means "sixth day.") It's almost Sabbath! I'm sorry for being a little late sending this out today. Sometimes I go on bunny trails as I read the Word, and this was definitely one of those days. Do you do that, too? My goal is to bring a little bit of Scripture, a sprinkle of encouragement, and a dash of hope to your day. I love a good cup of coffee (brewed like this), but if some other drink is more your style, I'm sure that will work. The point is for you to take a break from crazy living, just long enough for a sip of joy.
Daily Bible Verse"Now therefore, O Kings, be wise; be admonished, you judges of the earth. Serve YHVH with fear, and rejoice with trembling." (Psalm 89:9)

What is the definition of an ungodly person? I’ve been reading each morning in the book of 1 Kings, and I’ve been amazed at how wicked most of the kings of Israel and Judah
were! To get a good description of someone who is ungodly and wicked, you could just type the words ungodly or wicked into a Bible search engine and read about the lives of people in the Bible’s “Wicked Hall of Fame.” But you don’t even have to leave Psalm 1 to get a good definition of what it means to be ungodly. Just look back at verse 1! Read More

Scripture teaches us the purpose of the Second Exodus — to show the holiness of His great Name among the nations. We also read of the progression of the Second Exodus — first, we
repent of not obeying His commands (the Torah), and then we begin to obey to the best of our ability while we are dispersed to the ends of the earth, and finally, He brings us back to His Land and sets up His Messiah on the throne. Finally, we read why it is called the Second Exodus — because it will remind us of the First Exodus, when He brought His people out of slavery in the land of Egypt. Continue Reading

I like fast and easy, and nothing is as fast or easy as pulled-beef sandwiches. I bought a beef chuck
roast, and I browned it, then threw it in my crockpot with a cup of water and a tablespoon or so of minced onion. I let it cook on high for about 5 hours. Now it’s juicy, and I can easily pull it apart with a fork. Now to make some delicious, homemade (and healthy) sauce. Get the Recipe |
