Blessings on you from the Elliott family! Thank you for subscribing, and we hope you enjoy today’s newsletter. Happy Prep Day! It's been a busy week here, and I am looking forward to putting my feet up. Today's posts are about endurance, and while they were written many years ago, they definitely hit the spot today. Oh, and the cookie
recipe hits the spot, too! My goal is to bring a little bit of Scripture, a sprinkle of encouragement, and a dash of hope to your day. I love a good cup of coffee (brewed like this), but if some other drink is more your style, I'm sure that will work. The point is for you to take a break from crazy living, just long enough for a sip of joy.
Daily Bible Verse"YHVH has heard my supplication; YHVH will receive my prayer." (Psalm 6:9)

Last week, we talked about how to endure opposition. Today, the author of Hebrews tells us how to endure discipline in the form of hardships that come our way, sent by a loving heavenly Father to produce a harvest of goodness in our lives. Discipline. Yuck! While I know that God wants to perfect me and to make me more like Himself, I don’t always enjoy the process. Do you? I’m sure not. Discipline isn’t pleasant. Read

Before I went to bed last night, I told the ladies on my Telegram channel that I’d share something awesome in the morning. Well, it’s almost noon here on Prep Day, and I still haven’t shared something “awesome.” That’s because my daughter made a delicious batch of monkey bread yesterday, but all the sugary goo spilled over onto our oven, filling the kitchen with smoke. Late last night, I turned on my super-convenient self-cleaning oven… and we climbed into bed, only to be awoken an hour later by all the smoke alarms going off. I guess that goo was really amazing! My husband got the windows open (with temperatures in the 30s last night), a fan into the kitchen window,
and most of the smoke cleaned out, as the oven finished its 4-hour cleaning cycle. So we slept in a little this morning! Read More

This is my mom's cookie recipe. I'm not biased; these are yummy! When I was little, she would have these made and in the cookie jar before my brother got home from school. As soon as he was in the house, she'd put a couple cookies on a napkin, and I'd sit my little legs up to the dining room table. Mmmm... These cookies taste like home. Get the Recipe |
