This email makes your coffee taste better when your images are turned on. :-) |
Blessings on you from the Elliott family! Thank you for subscribing, and we hope you enjoy today’s newsletter. Happy Thursday! I found a bunch of old blog posts, written on days when I was especially tired, where I gave ideas on how to be present with my children despite my fatigue. I am hoping they will help you plan ahead for the
inevitable hard times. My goal is to bring a little bit of Scripture, a sprinkle of encouragement, and a dash of hope to your day. I love a good cup of coffee (brewed like this), but if some other drink is more your style, I'm sure that will work. The point is for you to take a break from crazy living, just long enough for a sip of joy.
Daily Bible Verse"He makes me to lie down in green pastures." (Psalm

Nature Walk Scavenger HuntBy Anne Elliott, September 11, 2009, AnneElliott.com
This week our children went on a nature walk to a nearby “forest” that our school district sponsors. It’s a beautiful sanctuary, not far at all from our house. Because I hadn’t been feeling so well, I decided to send them on a scavenger hunt, with a list of what to
take and what to find. Read More

Notebooking is an idea with which I have a love-hate relationship. I love it because it provides my children with a creative outlet, it requires that they regurgitate what they’ve learned from our reading and discussions, and it gives them with a great way to
review what they’ve learned as they look back through their notebook all school year. I also despise notebooking some days. I don’t like the mess, with tiny bits of paper on the carpet under the table, stray crayons found in the toddler’s hand, stickers shoved willy-nilly back into the storage container, or crumpled up notebooking pages that never made it into a notebook after our lessons.
