Blessings on you from the Elliott family! Thank you for subscribing, and we hope you enjoy today’s newsletter. Did you know that there are only two things we need to do if we want to have a life filled with joy, a life that pleases YHVH? He wants us to obey Him and thank Him. That's it! That's what we're going to look at
today. My goal is to bring a little bit of Scripture, a sprinkle of encouragement, and a dash of hope to your day. I love a good cup of coffee (brewed like this), but if some other drink is more your style, I'm sure that will work. The point is for you to take a break from crazy living, just long enough for a sip of joy.

Our Response to an Unchanging GodBy Anne Elliott, January 29, 2010, AnneElliott.com
A few weeks ago, I quoted the Bible’s definition of faith: “Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1). I made the point that “faith affects our lives. If we really have faith, it changes how we think. It changes how we live.” Do we really believe that what we don’t see is as real as what we see? Are we “sure of what we hope for” and “certain of what we do not see”? Read More

You are guaranteed to go through seasons in your life when things don’t go as planned, or even worse than that, people sin against you (or the other way around) and you must endure difficult times. And it doesn’t always happen because you haven’t obeyed God; often it happens all the more because you have obeyed God (think of Job, or David’s trials
with King Saul, or how about every one of the prophets?) Continue Reading

"Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things" (Philippians 4:8). I’ve been pondering this verse since the end of August, when I was first hospitalized with sepsis because of a kidney infection. The phrase “a good report” really stuck out to me. In our world, there are very few good reports at the moment, from politics and the news, to returning from the store without what I was wanting to purchase because it’s not in stock, to dear
friends dying from Covid. It’s not been a “good report” kind of year! Read More |
