Blessings on you from the Elliott family! Thank you for subscribing, and we hope you enjoy today’s newsletter. Good morning! Can you believe it's already August? As lots of families start to prepare for a new homeschooling year, I thought I'd share a few tips. My goal is to bring a little bit of Scripture, a sprinkle of encouragement, and a dash of hope to your day. I love a good cup of coffee (brewed like this), but if some other drink is more your style, I'm sure that will work. The point is for you to take a break from crazy living, just long enough for a sip of joy.
Daily Bible Verse"'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,' says YHVH, 'thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.'" (Jeremiah 29:11)

Planning is one of my favorite things. I have loved journals and calendars and to-do lists and file folders and Office Depot and pens and sticky notes and… well, all that stuff… for my entire life! However, I also have the “talent” of
adding too many things to my planning list. I enjoy new ideas, and all those new ideas get added to a master list. Quite frankly, I would need to live to be 120 years old (and maybe older!) to get all of the things done that are on my list. My Creator is also a planner, and since I’m made in His image, I know I get that characteristic from Him. It is a crazy, warm, and delicious thought to know
that I have been in His plans from the beginning of time. Yes, He’s been thinking about me that long! I can prove it from Scripture. And He’s been thinking about you, too. Want to see? Read More

Practical Planning for a New School YearBy Anne Elliott, January 27, 2012, AnneElliott.com
I know summer is only half over, but my brain is certainly gearing up for the new school year. I really love to plan and make lists, so I think this is fun. However, summer days go by quickly, and planning a school year is a big job—so it takes me several weeks to get it all done. I'm a big fan of planning in the summer because once the dizzying pace of school starts, I rarely have time to get lesson plans done on weekends and evenings. I've found we have a better year when I can get the big picture now, even if I have to modify it as we go along. Read More

Every August, the big discount stores have lists of school supplies at the front of the store. Teachers from local public schools submit what they would like students in their classrooms to have. Well, if I were teaching Homeschooling Torah in my home, these are
things I’d like to have handy for my “students.” 🙂 Keep Reading |
