Blessings on you from the Elliott family! Thank you for subscribing, and we hope you enjoy today’s newsletter. Good morning! I slept in a bit this morning, after our congregation's celebration of Shavuot yesterday. Today is Memorial Day in the United States, so today, I'm pondering some of the things the Word of God tells us to
remember. My goal is to bring a little bit of Scripture, a sprinkle of encouragement, and a dash of hope to your day. I love a good cup of coffee (brewed like this), but if some other drink is more your style, I'm sure that will work. The point is for you to take a break from crazy living, just long enough for a sip of joy.
Daily Bible Verse"I AM THAT I AM. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations." (Exodus 3:14-15)

Our church has some banners on the wall that feature many of the names of God. As we sing, I love to look at the names and meditate on what they mean to me.
The Lord our Righteousness The Lord Our
Provider The Lord Who Sees Me The Lord Our Salvation These names led me to begin studying more about His name in the Bible. I wanted to know which names (and their meanings)
applied to me and which might not. Could I be sure that He would always be my provider, for instance? Read More

It was Memorial Day earlier this week, and I have been thinking about memorials since the weekend; the things we do as individuals and as a nation to make sure we never forget the things that
are vital for us to remember. We make memorials of places – like Independence Hall in Philadelphia, where the Constitution was drafted, debated, and approved – and we make memorials in time – like July 4th, the date the Declaration of Independence was signed and published. The Lord is the same; He makes memorials of places and times also, whose purpose is to make sure we never forget something vital for us to
remember. Read More

I've shared this blog post before, but I thought today was the perfect day to share it again. It is good to get in the habit of carrying on conversations with my children about God as often as possible. The Bible gives some specific things you want to be sure to
talk about often, so we need to make a list of these. I’ll give you some ideas to get the conversations started. I’ll just list verses straight from the Bible, then I’ll share beneath how we implement some of the ideas in our home. Read More |
