Blessings on you from the Elliott family! Thank you for subscribing, and we hope you enjoy today’s newsletter. It is sometimes tricky to understand the difference between God's grace in our sin and our responsibility to be righteous. I tend to think it's about making righteousness our goal and realigning my actions to the goal, day after
day after day. My goal is to bring a little bit of Scripture, a sprinkle of encouragement, and a dash of hope to your day. I love a good cup of coffee (brewed like this), but if some other drink is more your style, I'm sure that will work. The point is for you to take a break from crazy living, just long enough for a sip of joy.
Daily Bible Verse"You are a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, who relents of doing harm." (Jonah 4:2)

I’ve been pondering something all week. I’ve been asking myself if I intentionally follow God or not. You see, a friend commented to me, “Anne, sometimes your blog comes across like you’re perfect, but now that I’ve gotten to know you, I realize you’re not. You’re
normal just like the rest of us.” Read More

There are many ways to describe how children grow into maturity. Classical education, for instance, uses the “grammar, dialectic, and rhetoric” stages to show how education needs to change as children get older. Christine Miller explains it: - The Grammar Stage – learning a body of knowledge about a subject
- The Dialectic Stage – learning to reason (why and how things relate)
- The Rhetoric Stage – learning to communicate and express
Scripture confirms that this is how we all learn and grow. Read More

Here’s a recipe I’ve been making for over 30 years. I first made it from my mother’s Betty Crocker Cookbook, which she gave me a copy of for my wedding. When my children were young, they loved to pull stools all around the kitchen counter and “help” me make this, which mostly consisted of smushing bananas and licking spoons and bowls. I’m posting this
recipe for my daughters and daughters-in-law, so that we can keep passing it down the generations. Get the Recipe |
