It’s like some space-age craziness how much data that can be extrapolated from your online actions.
And frankly, for us - in this business - it’s a necessity.
Understandably, in this day and age with the quickly growing emphasis
on personal privacy, I'm not someone who desires their private information to be spread across the web.

the other hand, I'm more than content when a website knows my preferences and makes it effortless to buy items of interest.
No matter where you stand on this argument, I'm here to tell you that if you aren't tracking metrics, then there are only two options:
1 - Incurring financial losses
2 - Are you missing out on potential earnings?
Let me tell you a story about a marketing buddy of mine. I’m not going to give you his real name, so let’s just call him Mike.
So, Mike built out this offer of his own. He had tested on some solo ad traffic sources and he was bringing in more money than he was spending.
As far as Mike was concerned, he was profitable.
And it was time to scale and buy more and more traffic from multiple channels.
What Mike didn’t do was set up any kind of tracking - like at all.
He figured it was his offer and his merchant account deposits money to his bank, so if more money was deposited than he spent on traffic, he was winning.
Makes sense right?
Yet, Mike ended up losing his ass.
He threw tens of thousands of dollars down the toilet, all because he was not tracking.
You see, Larry could have (and definitely should have) set up tracking for every individual traffic source he bought from.
Because then Larry would have known which traffic sources had a positive return.
And which ones didn’t?
By doing so, he could have grown the profitable products while discontinuing those that weren't successful.
However, he was confused about which sources were producing results and which weren't – so he simply continued to pour money in them, hoping his investment would eventually pay off.
So, the moral of Mike’s story is: track, track, and TRACK some more!
When investing in solo ads, make sure to install click tracking technology so you are certain that all of your clicks were acquired and set up conversion tracking tools to track if a specific seller is driving commissions.
When investing in PPC, setting up ad tracking will help you determine which ads generate clicks, sales, and ROI. This way, you can avoid wasting money
