My Osteoporosis & Calcium L-Threonate At Cost

For those of you that read every last one of my Newsletters, you are aware that I developed pretty bad Osteoporosis. This happened to me when I had my severe health issues. This is very uncommon to happen in a man at my age. I was deficient in protein, calcium, iron, and sodium among other things. As many of you know, I had my colon removed so my absorption probably isn’t the best.

No matter how much animal protein that I ate, or how many vitamin and calcium supplements that I took, my nutrition levels continued to suffer; until, I brought carrot juice back into my life. I started making carrot/spinach juice fresh twice a day.

All of my deficiencies went away within a few months after vegetable juicing twice a day. Before I started juicing, I had two osteoporosis tests over the years, and both times I had severe Osteoporosis.

Once I started vegetable juicing and my nutritional blood levels normalized, I decided to get off all supplements. 2 months later I got my blood tested again, and my blood calcium ranges were good without using any calcium supplements.

I did share in a Newsletter that Dr. Norman Walker, the creator of Vegetable juicing, said that one pint of carrot juice, daily, has more constructive body value than 25 pounds of calcium tablets

I'm pretty sure that the carrot/spinach juice handled all of my blood deficiencies, including calcium.

So, the question that I get all of the time is if I still have Osteoporosis. All I know is that my blood calcium levels are good so I'm not worried so much. An Osteoporosis test, I believe costs over $3000, and it's not something that I am going to get done soon. I was in an out of the hospital so much over the years, that my deductible was always used up so I didn't mind taking free expensive tests whenever I could.

Now that I am better, I haven't had a need to use up my insurance deductible. Therefore, it will cost me many thousands of dollars right now to get an Osteoporosis test. I will probably test it in the next few years after I've drank vegetable juice like this consistently for a very long period of time. It will be super interesting to see what happens then.

The main reason that I bring this up is because whenever I offer our Calcium L-Threonate on special, people wonder if I am taking this for my Osteoporosis. The Calcium L-Threonate is a fairly new product and I never took it for a substantial amount of time. However, based on the research that I share below, there is no doubt in my mind that it is the best Calcium Supplement on the market.

However, since my calcium blood levels are ok from drinking carrot/spinach juice daily twice a day, I find no need to personally take it.

People also ask me if they need to take the Calcium L-Threonate if they are taking the Carrot Juice Powder? Firstly, I'm not a doctor, and there are so many factors involved when answering this question. How bad is your Osteoporosis, how much carrot juice powder are you drinking in a day, etc?

If you were to take the amount of powder in fresh carrot juice that I drink in a day, that would equate to 2-4 tablespoons of carrot juice powder a day.

The only way that I know if something is working for me, is if I take a blood test before starting something new, and then take a blood test a few months afterwards in order to see if it is working. That is the only true way I know if something is working for me. I did this with the Carrot/Spinach juice, and it seems to definitely be working for me.

Now, if my blood calcium levels were still low, then I would feel the need to take a calcium supplement, and this is the one that I would take. I personally feel that our Calcium L-Threonate product is the best calcium supplement available.

It's similar to how Magtein works.

If you remember from last month we offered Magtein ‘At-Cost’, and is also referred to as Magnesium L-Threonate. It is a patented combination of magnesium and a vitamin C compound called ‘Threonic Acid’. It is the only type of Magnesium that is capable of crossing the brain/blood barrier. Therefore, it effectively feeds the brain Magnesium, which turns out to be critical to brain function. It's the most amazing form of Magnesium ever developed. 

Well, in the same way that researchers increased the absorption of Magnesium with L-Threonate, they did the exact same thing with Calcium L-Threonate. This allows calcium to be absorbed way more effectively into the bones. They took this same exact concept, and coupled the Vitamin C amino acid compound (Threonic Acid) with calcium, instead of magnesium.

Magnesium L-Threonate was originally developed to increase memory, in particular for Alzheimer’s Patients. Calcium L-threonate on the other hand, was developed for the treatment of osteoporosis, and used in the treatment of calcium deficiency.

The mechanisms of how this Calcium L-Threonate works, is unlike any other calcium on the market. After you read all of the studies and information below, you will see exactly what I am talking about.

Calcium does a lot of things besides just feed the bones. There are so many other uses for calcium around the body that when we run low in calcium, the body starts stealing it from the bones. This stealing of calcium from our bones is called Bone Resorption. It is resorption of bone tissue, that is, the process by which osteoclasts break down the tissue in bones and release the minerals, resulting in a transfer of calcium from bone tissue to the blood. So pretty much, Bone Resorption means removing calcium from the bones into the blood.

In the clinical study here, they concluded that ”L-threonate, especially calcium L-threonate could inhibit the bone resorption of osteoclasts, and its effect might be related to the radical of L-threonic acid.”

This is absolutely huge that calcium L-threonate could inhibit bone resorption, and they think that it’s because of the L-threonate component. As we age, the body begins to take calcium from the bones for other uses in the body (bone resorption), then we end up with things like Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and other issues from this pitting of the bones, and as seen in that clinical study above, Calcium L-threonate could inhibit that.

In that same clinical study, the hardcore pharmaceutical drugs alendronate and estradiol actually did inhibit bone resorption even more than the Calcium L-Threonate. Those pharmaceutical drugs have no calcium within them. One is an estrogen steroid hormone, and the other is monosodium salt trihydrate. Sometimes we may need Pharmaceutical drugs in extreme cases, but you just have to weigh for yourself if their potential side effects are worth it.

While those pharmaceutical drugs aren’t calcium sources, the Calcium L-Threonate is a legitimate very absorbable calcium source, which is said to absorb up to 95%. So not only does it have the potential to inhibit bone resorption, but unlike these other pharmaceutical drugs, it can provide calcium to your body at the same time. Some say it may be the best shot at dealing with bone issues naturally, before getting into more hardcore pharmaceutical drugs.

Since these pharmaceutical drugs don’t have any calcium, they are using other pathways other than just calcium to increase bone density. In that same clinical study above, the Calcium L-Threonate not only provides calcium, but it seems like the L-Threonate component alone may also be working to increase bone health too, because the clinical study said, “L-threonate, especially calcium L-threonate could inhibit the bone resorption”. Through that statement, It looks like Calcium L-Threonate inhibits bone resorption more effectively, but it seems that L-Threonate alone may also do some of the job.

I believe this happens because the L-Threonate is a bio-carrier for calcium. It has specific influence in bone metabolism, and It directs calcium passage through the intestine and deposits calcium in the bones more efficiently. Therefore, just like L-Threonate enables passage of Magnesium across the Brain Blood Barrier, it seems that it can do the same here with the bones.

L-Threonate Acid is a key component of the overall formula of this Calcium L-threonate, and is one of the main metabolites of Vitamin C. It also influences the biological activities or functions of Vitamin C, and provides optimum supplementation of our dietary collagen needs.

Yep, that’s right, Calcium L-Threonate does not only supplement calcium, but also it has been scientifically proven to strengthen bones by encouraging the formation of collagen and cartilage and improving bone density and joint flexibility.

In the studies connected to the Calcium L-threonate patent here, it shows the method Calcium L-Threonate treats cartilage related diseases, how it increased the quantity of bone collagen, and so much more.

The studies state, ”the present invention relates to a method for preventing or treating of cartilage related diseases, such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, articular cartilage damage, multiple chondritis, osteochondrosis, etc., which comprises administering an effective amount of calcium L-threonate to a subject in need of such prevention or treatment. It had been demonstrated by experiments that calcium L-threonate could improve significantly the positive expression percentage of collagen I mRNA in the chondrocyte and osteoblast, improved significantly the positive expression percentage of articular cartilage and epiphyseal cartilage, facilitated the growth of chondrocyte, increased the quantity of bone collagen, and promoted the formation of bone and cartilage matrix and the synthesis of proteoglycan. It could also promote the formation of bone nourishing blood vessels and improve the microcirculation of bone.”

So this study shows that Calcium L-threonate has the potential to improve bone collagen, cartilage, bone blood vessels, microcirculation of the bone, and help the formation of proteins present in the connective tissue.

Within the studies of another Calcium L-threonate patent here, Calcium L-Threonate is recognized as a method for treating bone fractures.

The studies say, ”present invention relates to a method for treating or preventing bone fracture, which comprises administering an effective amount of calcium L-threonate to a subject in need of such prevention or treatment. It had been found from experiments that calcium L-threonate could not only promote proliferation, differentiation and mineralization of osteoblasts, but also could promote the expression of collagen I mRNA of osteoblasts cultured in vitro. Accordingly it facilitated bone fracture healing and increased bone density and mechanical performance, so as to prevent or treat bone fracture.”

As we saw in the very first study above, Calcium L-Threonate not only inhibited the bone resorption of “osteoclasts”, which are the cells involved in the breakdown of bones, but the studies in this patent show that it also promoted proliferation, and mineralization of the “osteoblasts”, which are involved in formation and mineralization of the bones. So Calcium L-threonate seems to promote proliferation and mineralization of the Osteoblasts and inhibit Osteoclasts. It’s the perfect combination for bone health.

At the final patent here, which is attached to five different clinical studies, shows the use of calcium L-threonate in preventing, inhibiting, and curing osteoporosis and rickets.

The five studies include, the Enhancing Effect of Calcium L-threonate on the Bone Mineral Density of Preschool Children, the Effect of Calcium L-threonate on Curing Babies of Rickets, a couple of others on rats, and lastly a test of drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion of Calcium L-threonate.

If you want a really detailed crazy long read, there was a scientific panel on the opinion of Calcium L-threonate for its use as a source of calcium in food supplements, performed by the ANS (Food Additives and Nutrient Sources added to food), a division of the EFSA (European Food Safety Authority), at the link here.

This Scientific Panel on the Opinion of Calcium L-threonate, has numerous clinical studies within this document, and it reveals that in one study Calcium L-Threonate and Calcium Gluconate is more effectively absorbed compared to Calcium Acetate, and Calcium Carbonate. However, in another study on this panel Calcium L-threonate outperformed Calcium Gluconate.

This entire 20 page European Food Safety Authority paper was to show that Calcium L-Threonate is safe, and it successfully did that with flying colors.

The same EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) did a similar scientific opinion panel on orotate minerals, which included Calcium Orotate to see if it was safe. As a lot of you probably know, many natural doctors and people within the alternative health sector are stating that Calcium Orotate is the best calcium to take. Well, while the EFSA approved the Calcium L-threonate as super safe, this same EFSA scientific panel stated that calcium orotate is a safety concern.

They concluded at the link here, “The Panel concludes that in the light of the tumour-promoting effect of orotic acid in animal experimentation, the small margin of safety to this effect from foreseeable exposure, and the absence of any relevant studies on genotoxicity and of any developmental studies, the use of orotate as a source of the eight other minerals and choline at the proposed levels of use is of safety concern.

If you go further into this EFSA panel paper, it states, ”Several studies have shown that repeated dosing of orotic acid to rats and some other species promotes the formation of tumours initiated by various known carcinogenic substances. The usual concentration to promote tumours has been 1% in the diet, but also 0.5 and 0.2 % in the diet has been shown to have promoting effect.”

What they are saying is that it is a safety concern to take Orotate mineral products, like Calcium Orotate, because within several animal studies they revealed that the repeated intake of Orotate promotes the formation of tumors, even when Orotate is as low as .2%, of the diet, which is only one-fifth of a percent, of the animals diet. If it was just one animal study, ok. However, they are talking about several studies among various species of animals.

Anyway, one last clinical study on Calcium L-threonate at the link here, states, ”Calcium L-Threonate was absorbed extremely well and it was established as safe. This study concluded, Calcium L-threonate was well tolerated in healthy Chinese subjects, with no pattern of dose-related adverse events. Plasma exposure increased with dose escalation, and linear pharmacokinetics were not observed over the studied doses. L-threonate was absorbed rapidly, and its absorption was enhanced by food intake. No systemic accumulation appeared after repeated administrations.”

Whenever I send a Newsletter out about Calcium L-Threonate, I get many questions on how it’s derived and what it comes from. It’s actually an incredible process in how they make it.

They alter the molecular formula of the calcium with two different steps in order to obtain the Calcium L-Threonate. In the first step they take Calcium Carbonate and Ascorbic Acid, and they process this through Hydrogen Peroxide Oxidation. The Hydrogen Peroxide Oxidation step adds oxygen to its molecular formula by 30-35%, and transforms this entire compound into white crystals of Calcium Ascorbate. In the second step they take this Calcium Ascorbate (Vitamin C-Calcium) and Oxygen compound, and they literally have it react under the action of enzymes, which then turns into Calcium L-threonate.

It’s almost like they are mixing the perfect compounds, and predigesting it with enzymes in order to form this Calcium L-threonate.

Also remember, the L-threonate (vitamin C amino acid) enables passage of the calcium through the intestines into the bones. That is the key here. The only other calcium supplement that I know of that has a carrier of some sort like this is the calcium Orotate, and that’s why many natural doctors have recommended that as their choice of calcium. However, as we learned, the EFSA deemed that taking Orotate Minerals is a safety concern due to the several studies revealing tumor promoting effects it had in various species of animals, even when the quantity they took was only .2% (1/5 of 1%) of their total diet.

It’s always good to take calcium with food, because it needs an acidic environment from the stomach for optimal absorption.

This Calcium L-Threonate is a total natural bone builder, providing calcium to the bones.

Just like the Magnesium L-Threonate, the Calcium L-Threonate has no taste. There are a lot of calciums out there that taste awful, or they are really chalky. You simply take 1/4 teaspoon, you put it in some water, you stir it up, and chug it down. You can also just put it in a shot glass if you don’t want that much water when taking it with your food.

As usual, our Calcium L-threonate is just one single ingredient with no other fillers: Calcium L-threonate. There is no other Calcium L-threonate product out there that doesn’t have other fillers in it like Maltodextrin among others.

If you take 1/4 teaspoon a day, one bag will last you 36 days. 1/4 teaspoon will give you 1250 mg’s of Calcium L-Threonate, which contains 166.5 mg’s of elemental calcium. Elemental calcium is the amount of calcium that is actually used by the body. Keep in mind that the L-threonate is a big percentage of this product, which is going to work here making the absorption rate incredibly good. Since Calcium L-threonate is so well-absorbed, there’s no need to take an excessive dose, since you won’t ‘lose’ much of the calcium.

When in need of calcium, It’s generally recommended to get calcium from both your food and supplementation, like carrot juice lol. Many of the alternative natural companies put a much lower dosage of calcium in their supplements. For example, GHC (Global Healing Center) has 90mg per serving 2-3 times a day. Dr Mercola’s Calcium is 180mg per day, Eidon minerals offers only 10mg per serving, etc.

If you have a serious bone issue, and you want to take more, I created a chart below for you, which shows the dosages and how much calcium you will get. For example, double the amount of Calcium L-threonate at 1/2 teaspoon a day, you would need two bags for the 36 days. Today’s ‘At-Cost’ price is only $17.61 when you get a 3-pack, so two bags comes to $35.22, which is a reasonable amount to spend on getting 2500mg of Calcium L-threonate per day, which equates to 333mg’s of elemental calcium for 36 days. 3/4 of a teaspoon will give you just about 500mg of elemental calcium per day and so on. Once the sale is over, I won’t do a huge increase in the sale price and I will be sure to offer it ‘At-Cost’ again every 5-6 months or so.
