With rising costs of Lumber these days, this is by far the most economical way to build your own Barndomnium. Greg sawed his own rough cut lumber out of some pretty nice logs. Douglas fir and other local Idaho species of timbers.
He then stickered and stored his timbers until he was ready to start assembly. Then he planed his
timbers down to the final dimension with the biggest hand held power planer I have ever seen! He then cut all the timbers to length, and the correct angle according to the plans, laid them out and assembled each bent frame one at a time. Just a few days ago his crane was delivered and I believe they are setting the bents today! As you read this email!
What an exciting journey he and his wife are embarking on!
What could be more satisfying than to be able to tell your friends and family that visit your home. "I cut these timbers out myself, on my sawmill!"
I guarantee they will never forget their visit to your home!
