Hi there!

We wanted to give you a quick heads up today about two important things -- the Thrive Life sale ending and our upcoming April "Get it Done" challenge.

ARPRIL "GET IT DONE" CHALLENGE PREVIEW

Last month we introduced our first "Get it Done" challenge, a mini-challenge we throw out to our readers every month to encourage them to get something DONE! .  We had everyone fill or rotate their water storage containers hanging around the house.  We had a lot of people submit pictures of their challenge for our Waterbrick giveaway (click here to see the winner and see our review on Waterbricks).  It was so fun to see everyone getting this task done that is an easy one to put off.

In April we are going to be challenging everyone to do one of two things:

1.  Get your 72 hour kit put together
                            or
2.  Rotate the food in your 72 hour kits and swap out kids' clothes/supplies as necessary

We will formally launch the challenge in early April with lots of tips on how to actually do this, but we wanted to give you a heads up to watch for sales on items you like to include in your kits as you are grocery shopping over the next few weeks.  If you are doing a Thrive order to take advantage of the sale, we recommend throwing in a couple of the pouch sizes of fruits and vegetables for great disaster kit snacks.  Here is a little tip (and some pictures) from Julie on how she rotates the food in her kit.

My 72 hour kits have a variety of foods in them. Some of the food I'll openly admit I'm not terribly fond of (big huge calorie bars that have a long shelf life). Because of this, I have a bag of extra food that I know my family will love and feel comfortable with. In my extra bag of food I have cliff bars and Thrive fruit and veggie pouches. The Thrive pouches have a 5 year shelf life, so rotation on those is awesome. The cliff bars however don't have as high of a shelf life. However, I've noticed that every 6 months my grocery store puts them on sale at a deep discount. Whenever I see them, I buy a bunch and replace the ones in the bag and put the old ones in my snack drawer. This beats throwing out snacks we don't ever eat in real life.

1. Empty the older foods from your bag (in this case it's cliff bars)
2. Put new snacks you buy on sale in your bag
3. Put old snacks in snack drawer and eat

I love this. It's simple. I don't waste food. I buy things on sale. Perfect.

Good luck and we will be in touch soon for the full "Get it Done" Challenge!
