This is probably the most “mom” friendly Emergency Preparedness book you can put on your shelf. You can read it like a book, and it’s full of personal tidbits and has a great tone to it. But you can also use it as a manual and refer to it on an as-needed basis based on the topic you are looking up.  If you are mainly focused on food storage it's definitely covered but not the main point of the book.  It's really a great overall guide for how to be prepared in all aspects of life.
