People ask me, Dr. Mendelsohn, what do you think of laetrile?
My answer is, I think laetrile is marvelous because it keeps people away from doctors who will give them chemotherapy.
They ask me, Dr. Mendelsohn what do you think of copper bracelets for Arthritis?
(The late mayor Richard Daley of Chicago Wore a copper bracelet.
When I would appear with him, he would often turn to me and say, Doc, what do you think of my copper bracelet?)
I would reply, does it work?
He would say, "yes, it does."
I would say, well, I think it's great.
Then he would start his speech with, "the good doctor says...")
I love copper bracelets because they keep people away from rheumatologist who will give the Motrin, butazolidin, Tolectin, or even kill them with oraflex, the antiarthritic that had to be removed from the market.
What is my opinion on chelation? I cherish chelation therapy because it keeps people away from surgeons who will give them coronary bypass or a carotid artery operation.
Doctors complain that quacks keep patients away from Orthodox medicine.
I cheer!
Since all the treatments, both Orthodox and Alternative, for
- Cancer
- Coronary Heart Disease
- Hypertension
- Stroke
- and Arthritis
are equally unproven, why would a sane patient choose a treatment that can kill them?
