Message from Andria - This Week's Inspiration

Published: Fri, 02/28/14

Hello ,

I hope you're having a great week.  We had the pleasure of some very warm (60-degree!) weather in Virginia last weekend, which I took full advantage of by spending lots of time outside. I hope wherever you are, you got a short break from this winter's very cold snowy weather!

I am (once again) sending this email in place of our normal formatted newsletter, The Ripple Effect. C3's new updated brand is days away from being complete and we are very excited to share it with you!   I debated about waiting for the new brand to be officially launched before sending this out but I thought it was more important to get you this week's inspiration.  And, I am quite particular about the updates being made to our brand and website so, with me, a few days away from launch could possibly turn into a week! :)

For this week's inspiration, I have a quote and a question for you to ponder.  First the quote:

"What We See Depends Mainly On What We Look For" - John Lubbock

This quote reminds me that I am training my brain to see and not see things that are all around me.  Our amazing brains can take in exorbitant amounts of data however, we can only process so much of that data.  What we consciously process is a result of our past experiences and beliefs.  There is a part of the brain called the Reticular Activating System that literally filters out data that is unfamiliar to us (because we can only consciously process so much). Therefore, we are consciously aware of those things that fit into our brain's system of beliefs and experiences.  It is why a mother can discern her own child crying in a room filled with many crying children.  She is consciously tuned into that sound.  It is also why I have my clients work on looking for the positive things and blessings in their lives on a daily basis.  Doing this causes their brains to begin paying attention to what is positive so they become more and more aware of what is good versus what is bad.  That is why I love John Lubbock's quote - it is very true that what we see depends completely on what we are looking for; regardless of what you're going through or experiencing in your life, blessings are all around you every day.  You just have to train your brain to look for them.

And now the question for you to ponder; this is directly linked to the above quote:

What am I looking for?

This week, pay attention to what you are looking for each day; set an intention to look for what it is you want to see.  Seek the blessings and I promise you will find them!

Hope this provides you with some inspiration for your week.  I am looking forward to sharing our newly updated website and rebranded look with you in the coming weeks. You can be sure there will be a great complimentary resource for you included with our launch!

Please feel free to pass this email onto anyone you think may benefit from reading it and, as always, keep spreading those positive ripple effects!

To your continued success!

Best,

Andria
