Five new children arrived at Ciudad de Ángeles on Thursday, July 13. Jose Luis, age 4, and Abraham, age 2, are brothers of our Cristel. Jimena, age 8, Nayroby, age 6, and Elizabeth, age 3 are
sisters. Their arrival is an answer to many prayers and much hard work by Les and his staff. We are grateful to be "growing" again. We are currently seeking sponsor families for these
children. Anyone interested in more information about sponsorship may click here. We also welcome any "interim funding" while we seek sponsors for these children. |
In June, the Secretary of Health and DIF National hosted a three-day nationwide conference of Organizations for Residential Placement of Children and Adolescents in Oaxaca.
Les accepted an invitation to be a presenter on the topic of Transition Programs. Inclusion in this conference as a presenter and not just a participant, was significant recognition and validation of our ministry by DIF National. The conference also provided a great opportunity for Les to "network" with organizations from around the country! This summer, Ciudad moved back into a "full" summer schedule of mission team visits that spanned 7 weeks in June & July. Teams from A&M (TX), The Hills (TX),
Campus (GA), Woodbury (MN), East Cobb (GA), Linking Arms (TX), Northside (TX), Grace Chapel (GA), and Lipscomb Academy (TN) taught English, held Bible classes, hosted recreational activities, completed service projects, and strengthened their relationships with our children, house parents, and admin staff. We are grateful for all those who served on mission teams this year -- Spring Break and Summer! Thank you for what you mean to our children! Exchange rates for dollars to pesos have been steadily falling for the past 12 months. In August 2022, we received 20.19 pesos for every dollar we transferred to Mexico.
This month, rates were 16.85:1, the lowest point since 2015. This means that not only are we battling high inflation in Mexico, but the dollars we have are not going as far as they had been. Please consider how you might be able to help. Even a small, recurring donation can have a positive impact. And, please tell other likeminded people about the work in
Cozumel and encourage them to help if they can. Donations may be mailed to our address in Marietta: Ciudad de Ángeles, Inc. 5240 Roswell Rd. NE Marietta, GA 30062 Or,
