Hi -
Thoughtful Choices...
Last week I had the pleasure of seeing the movie "Unstoppable" about surfer Bethany Hamilton. Many of you do not share my passion for surfing so may not of heard about Bethany. She is a young Mum with a deep faith and a fierce Spirit that has stood her in good stead. She lost one arm to a Shark when she was 13 years of age, then was back in the water surfing 4 weeks later. She went on to tackle many different aspects of surfing
like you or I might, without the attitude of doing this with one arm. Her take on life is quite unique.
She sees herself as someone for people to look to for hope, and uses a voice for this wherever possible.
On listening to her being interviewed by Layne Beachley before the movie and being asked - she said her message to young people, and perhaps the rest of us there too(!) was about living a life of thoughtful choices.
Here is a young woman who we then witnessed in the film learning how to surf again after the loss of her arm, overcoming and solving challenge after challenge. She learned how to get herself out through the waves, mastered surfing aerials in Indonesia and riding in the barrel of waves in Tahiti. She was cut from reefs, bounced off the bottom, hammered by waves over and over attempting new skills. Brutal. Bethany also
surfed at Jaws, a notorious big wave, first being towed in, receiving a hiding after by the waves after, she then kept going and paddled herself into a 60ft wave and riding it!
Quite remarkable.
Bethany certainly does live every bit of her thoughtful choices.
Very very inspiring.
I decided to stop making excuses for this slightly aging body of mine, and breathed a sigh of relief for my choice to start doing a little running again the week before this, and to thread in a little more exercise into the routine :-D...
What Thoughtful Choice would you like to add into your life right now? 'Need a hand, we can tackle getting clearer about this or anything in your way from making this a reality for You.
Let me know if I can join forces with you.
With love,
Pam
