Open Doors…
'Funny how odd it still feels to come home and leave the front and back doors wide open…
Years upon years of being mindful of wandering paws…have kept me now unconsciously closing them as soon as I walk through.
How I miss:
Popping out the back door to hang the washing on the line and have company share the experience…
Unloading the groceries from the car with my helper
Being greeted on the other side of the open door with the most loving joyous grin and waggilicious girl I ever did see…
Marley taught me how to truly love. It feels the most pure relationship I have ever had..
no accomodating…
no compromising…
nothing was difficult or too much…
- Going the long way home through the park so she could wander in a bush, sniff a fresh scent or graze on a few new blades of grass before peeking her nose over the rise of the hill to meet me.
- Heading out in the rain for an ablute and some fresh air… that’s exactly what towels are made for on our return!
- Zig-zagging back and forth across the street to ensure all of the important bits were covered.
- Getting up for an early wee on a Sunday morning before snuggling back in bed together.
- Taking my shoes and socks off every Sunday when the ball somehow became mysteriously stuck under a tree root in the creek in her park - to retrieve her treasure…
In return Marley:
- Stayed at home patiently waiting for me to return from a surf…
- Became a part of the Framers Warehouse team being our meet and greet specialist ensuring all customers felt warmly welcomed and loved on arrival.
- Worked with me in clinic being 100 percent present and focused in healing and uplifting everyone’s day
- Walked me morning and night to ensure I got out to see and experience the beauty and day around us
- Looked after both Andy and I every possible moment, especially when we were unwell or just feeling down...hugging her was indescribably beautiful.
Simply pure love and acceptance….
On the eve of Marley's 12 month anniversary passing I can think of no way better than honouring her sharing some of the things she taught me. The next few posts will be 'Marley's Musings'.
I hope they enrich you as she enriched all who knew her.
With love,
Pam
