The double v-stitch, also known as a split shell, is one of my favorite crochet stitches. It is not only pretty, but easy and mindless as well.
This shawl shown here is worked up in a self-striping yarn, but any solid color will look just as nice.
It is worked in rows, with increases at each beginning and end, making easy for you to add your own striped design as well.
