Take Yourself Out To The Ball Games

The 2010 Major League baseball season has reached the half-way point and TheRealPlaces has your guide to the best places to stay near MLB stadiums.  If you want to see the best of the best, the current divisional leaders include some of the usual suspects (New York Yankees, Detroit Tigers, Atlanta Braves) and some unexpected teams (Texas Rangers, Cincinnati Reds and San Diego Padres).  Regardless of your favorite team, we've got easy-to-use pages for all 30 MLB teams containing lists of the closest hotels.

Norwegian Epic

The huge new Norwegian Epic has launched and reviews are pouring in. Entertainment by the likes of Blue Man Group and Cirque Dreams gets raves. The unique and ultra-modern "studio" cabins for single travelers are also a big hit. Three giant water slides and a large selection of restaurants and lounges draw praise. Not so popular is the bathroom layout in many cabins. Check it out for yourself. The Norwegian Epic sails from Miami to the eastern and western Caribbean.

This Week's New (or Improved) Hotels

The InterContinental New York Times Square is the largest hotel to open in New York City since 2002.  Located on 44th Street two blocks northwest of Times Square, the InterContinental has 607 rooms in a 36 story building.  Guest rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows and walk-in "rain showers".

The Best Western Arena hotel is now open in Brooklyn, with a name that isn't the most accurate.  It's actually about six blocks away from the site of the future home of the Nets of the NBA.  The 56 guest rooms include 42-inch HDTVs, microwave, fridge and iPod dock.
