DC and the Metro

Last night's storms ended any hope of seeing the Cherry Blossoms this year, but there are always good reasons to visit Washington, DC.  And the best way of getting around DC is the Metro subway system.  TheRealPlaces recently added DC's Metro stations to the list of the city's landmarks, so it's easier than ever to find a hotel within walking distance of a station.

Cruises from Charleston

Our new guide to cruises from Charleston is now online! CharlestonVoyage.com provides the complete schedule of cruises, ship information, photos and reviews. Carnival Cruise Line begins year-round cruises from Charleston in May. Celebrity and the small ship line American are well-established there.

This Week's New Hotels

The JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa opened recently, the first Marriott resort in Texas and the largest in the world.  It's 600 acres of golf courses (plural), spa, heated pools (plural again), restaurants and 140,000 square feet of meeting space.

The Hotel Indigo Nashville Downtown is the second member of that "upscale boutique" brand to land in the Nashville area.  This one is in the heart of downtown Nashville, a conversion of the "historic" American Trust Building - old school on the outside, boutique-y on the inside.  And it shares the building with the only two-story Starbucks in town - something definitely worth bragging about.
