The Marriott Marquis group of hotels is celebrating their 25th anniversary this summer. The most prominent of these mega-hotels include the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square (opened October 1985) and the Atlanta Marriott Marquis (opened August 1985). Holland America's Next Ship
Holland America Line's Nieuw Amsterdam launches in July. It will spend the summer in Europe, then relocate to Fort Lauderdale for the cold weather months. The luxurious new ship will feature the Silk Den Lounge with panoramic views over the sea, a premium wine tasting lounge, the Culinary Arts Center, Greenhouse Spa, and Tamarind asian restaurant. This Week's New Hotels
While not a new hotel, visitors to the Tropicana Resort and Casino in Las Vegas are in for a very new experience after the completion of a $165 million upgrade of guest rooms and suites in the 569-room Paradise Tower. It's the first major reno at "The Trop" since 1985 and enhances the whole "South Beach" feel of the Tropicana brand.
