Plan a Miami Cruise This Fall or Winter

It's not the most popular time of year for a cruise from Miami, but it's a great time to plan one for later in the year.  When things get back into high gear in November, cruisers will have a wide variety of cruise lengths to choose from, ranging from three night trips to the Bahamas to 7-night eastern Caribbean voyages to 10-night sailings to the southern Caribbean.  Visit Miami Cruise Guide for information about the ships and cruises available this fall and winter out of Miami.

Crystal's Grand Voyage with Celebrities

Crystal Cruises' 94-day cruise around the Pacific Ocean will feature appearances by celebrities such as Regis Philbin (television), Hank Aaron (baseball), Don Shula (football), Dorothy Hamill (ice skating), Cathy Rigby (gymnastics), Hoot Gibson (astronaut), and Rhea Seddon (astronaut). The long voyage leaves from Los Angeles on January 18, 2012 and includes stops in Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, South Korea, Japan, Russia, Alaska, and Canada. For information on this and other world cruise adventures, see our World Cruise Central.

This Week's New (or Improved) Hotels

The Hyatt Place Long Island East End is now open in Riverhead, New York.  Located near the eastern end of Long Island the hotel is adjacent to the Long Island Aquarium and Exhibition Center. Between them, the hotel and aquarium offer a significant amount of space for meetings and other events.

The Westin Gaslamp Quarter San Diego is looking very different after a complete reno of their guest rooms.  It's all so much trendier looking - with all the benefits that come with the hotel's downtown San Diego location.  Part of a $25 million overhaul that will be completed by sometime in 2012.
